Death toll from Karachi blasts reaches 33: Sagheer

KARACHI: Death toll from twin- bombings in Karachi on Friday, has reached 33, outmoded wellbeing minister thought Saturday.

Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, Health Minister of Sindh province of which Karachi is the investment, thought with the aim of several other injured died of wounds in hospitals.

He thought with the aim of a tote up of 167 nation were injured and 89 are still being treated in government and secretive hospitals. Read more »

Co-op to make juice from apples that inspired Newton

The rare apples were purchased from the Brogdale Horticultural Trust. The Trust is in the process of moving its National Fruit Collection to Reading University, and decided to sell three identical collections of its rarer apples in a bid to ensure their survival.

The Co-operative bought one of the three collections 18 months ago, and went to grow and harvest the apples on its own fruit farm in Tillington, Herefordshire. Read more »

Congress president Maulana Abul Kalam Azad gave the following interview to journalist Shorish Kashmiri for a Lahore based Urdu magazine, Chattan, in April 1946. It was a time when the Cabinet Mission was holding its proceedings in Delhi and Simla. The ongoing militant attacks against Pakistan’s civilians, law enforcement and military signal the need not only for increased security in the country but also for addressing the underlying problems that lead to extremism, such as poverty, illiteracy, joblessness and lack of education.

settle the “infidels” question in Islam.

Despite the substantial number of scholarly works and news stories to the contrary, many people still have the unfortunate misconception that Muslims cannot tolerate, coexist, or cooperate with followers of other religions. This is partly because Muslim extremists themselves often (mis)use Qur’anic verses to justify acts of violence against non-Muslims.

Simply put, these interpretations are wrong. In fact, many verses in the Qur’an call for friendship, fair treatment and cooperation with non-Muslims but are ignored by those wishing to create division in order to fan the flames, so to speak. Read more »

Clinton offers U.S. aid to help boost Muslim ties

MARRAKESH, Morocco (Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton offered aid on Tuesday to boost ties with the Muslim world and urged Israel, the Palestinians and Arab countries to move beyond recrimination in the search for peace.
